Summary:
Across the United States, community health workers (CHWs) bridge the gap between health and social services and communities, especially those that are underserved. In 2025, Atlas Clarity partnered with Sanofi, NationSwell, and the National Association of Community Health Workers (NACHW) to 1) collect information on impactful and sustainably financed CHW programs and 2) recommend actions for stakeholders to take to expand these models. Our teams interviewed several CHWs and CHW leaders about facilitators and barriers to successful CHW programs in the existing healthcare infrastructure.
In August 2025, Atlas Clarity and partners released a report with our partners entitled, “Strengthening Public Health with Community Health Workers". This report describes our key informants’ successful and financially sustainable CHW models, and uses them to inform five recommended actions for healthcare stakeholders to expand and fund sustainable CHW programs nationwide.
